This is a series of works I made when I was experiencing being fully or partially housebound between 2010 and 2016 due to chronic sickness and disability. I did not yet have the language, confidence or community to be able to illustrate my experiences of sickness and medical trauma explicitly but I did slowly shift my practice from dance and movement to moving image. I looked to my close or immediate surroundings to find subconscious choreographies that are created by atmosphere, architecture, relationships and city planning. I relate this to Found Art as the movement or activity isn't intended to be dance, choreography or performance.
'Everything in the universe has a rhythm, everything dances.'- Maya Angelou
Page Description: A lilac background with a translucent image from a 90s cartoon of a pink creature in a blue bubble bath with pink bubbles, their eyes are peeking out of the water and they look a bit grumpy. It is overlaid with black text.
Image Descriptions: There are no images apart from the one described above and an ascii art face in the title of the page, an expressionless wide eyed face holds a wand which spews circles and stars as if casting a spell and out of it, the title, 'Found Dance' appears.
